Marlboro School District is a rural school found in Southern Vermont serving about 100 students in grades PK-8. It has a longstanding tradition of providing a progressive authentic learning environment. The mission of Marlboro School is to develop personal growth, creative problem solving, and diverse means of communication in students so that they are knowledgeable stewards of their communities at home and abroad.

In addition to the school budget, there are two other school organizations that financially support teacher’s creativity and passions. Marlboro School is currently in the midst of two long-term school-wide initiatives; Restorative Practices and Social Justice & Equity. We will be entering the third year of our staff-wide restorative practices training and will continue this training until it is rooted at all levels of our community, becoming regular practice for students, staff, families, and board members. Interrelated with restorative practices is we are committed to becoming an anti-racist and equitable school. We are involved in the Supervisory Union’s JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Team and we have committed to school-specific monthly staff meetings facilitated by an education consultancy firm.
